A 43 year old woman died in the Hospital Ramón y Cajal in Madrid on Christmas morning after being stabbed, allegedly by her son.
Police were called to the house in calle San Narciso in the San Blas district of the city at 07:50 following a report of a commotion.
Police found three people suffering from various injuries. The mother, her 27 year old partner and a 42 year old woman lodger had all been stabbed, allegedly by the son.
The mother was taken to hospital but died at around 11:00, having suffered four cardiac arrests.
Her partner is in the Hospital Gregorio Marañón where his condition is described as serious. He has stab wounds to the abdomen and back.
The lodger has stab wounds to the chest, abdomen and back and is also in the Hospital Gregorio Marañón where her condition is described as grave.
The son, aged 23 years, was arrested by police.
