Arnold ‘failure is not an option’ Schwarzenegger will depart public office on Monday, ending a seven year stint as the Governor of California.
He leaves with an approval rating of just 22 per cent and a $28 billion budget deficit, triple the amount it was when he assumed office, having concentrated on environmental rather than fiscal issues.
Arnie will be succeeded by Democrat Jerry Brown who was governor from 1975 to 1983. What he plans to do next, nobody knows, although there is speculation that he will want to earn a bit of cash, having spent $25 million of his own money on election campaigns.
