Six people were taken to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning after being affected by smoke caused by a faulty air conditioning unit in a hotel in Algeciras, Cádiz province.
The smoke began at around 03:30 in the morning at the hotel in avenida Virgen del Carmen in Algeciras. In addition to the six people taken to the Hospital Punta Europa suffering from smoke inhalation, a further 29 had to be evacuated from their rooms.
There was no fire, just smoke, leading to the preliminary hypothesis that a faulty air conditioner was the cause of the incident.
