The troubled Vélez-Málaga tranvia tram did not fare very well in the recent Consumer-Eroski survey carried out on the nation’s metro and tram systems.
The survey analysed 23 tram systems and 46 stops, judging on cleanliness, punctuality, accessibility and provision of information.
Waiting times and frequency of trams are the longest in the country, up to 40 minutes, with Alicante in second place with waiting times of between 20 and 30 minutes.
The Vélez-Málaga scored as follows:
- Provision of information and services: acceptable
- Security: good
- Accessibility: acceptable
- Cleaning and maintenance: good
The overall classification was acceptable-good.
Bilbao was the only tram service to obtain an overall ‘very good’ rating.
