The Consumers in Action organisation FACUA has now launched a campaign to encourage people to denounce retailers engaging in sharp practices during the sales period, once again setting up a web page for this purpose.
According to FACUA, cases arise where the so-called ‘sale price’ is actually higher than the original, pre-sale price and the manipulation of prices leads to a misrepresentation of the true discount being offered.
FACUA believes that the inspectors from the various regional administrations need to change their methods of control in order to better monitor the winter and summer sales periods as well as severly punish offenders.
