The Andalucian Energy Agency is preparing for a new Appliance Renewal Plan, similar to the one carried out last year which, environmentally speaking, prevented 12,440 tons of CO2 entering the atmosphere.
The scheme encourages people to upgrade appliances such as fridges, freezers, dish washers, washing machines and heating equipment to more environmentally friendly models.
Last year, a total of 1,665 businesses participated in the scheme with 149,000 appliances being upgraded.
Customers who take advantage of the scheme receive a rebate of between €75 and €125 when purchasing a newer model appliance.
