The Council of Ministers has approved a Royal Decree which will end the militarisation of the air traffic control system in Spain.
Air traffic control was transferred to military control on December 4th following a wildcat strike by air traffic controllers and the declaration of a ‘state of alert’.
Air traffic control will revert to civil administration on Saturday January 15th.
The initial ‘state of alert’ was extended by the Government to ensure a trouble-free Christmas holiday period.
