It looks like it could be third time lucky for Torrox Council in their attempts to sell a municipal plot of land for the construction of VPO (subsidised) housing.
Attempt number one to sell the 18,000 square metre plot of land in the Barranco del Puerto to construct 152 VPO houses was halted following a complaint by the opposition PSOE relating to a procedural error.
Attempt number two was scuppered by the Junta de Andalucia due to administrative problems.
Now, the green light has been given to a local UTE (consortium) to buy the plot for €501,000. They were, incidentally, the only bidders.
Barring any last minute problems, the process should begin next week.
