The Council is requesting assistance from the Junta de Andalucia to set up two workshops in Nerja, an education workshop to be called ‘Nerja, Sierra-Mar’ and an employment workshop to be called ‘Acueducto del Águila’.
Both workshops would have six modules with a total of around 60 students.
The education workshop would be for a two year period and would be for under 25’s. The employment workshop would be for one year and would be for over 25;s.
In both cases, the subjects covered would be the same: geriatrics, promotion, set design, carpentry, gardening, plumbing and electricity.
The Council recently concluded the workshop ‘Sierra Almijara’ which resulted in 36 students being suitably qualified and with guaranteed access to the labour market.
