Three workmen and a passer-by were injured, one of them very seriously, on Thursday afternoon after an explosion at a recycling warehouse in Málaga.
The incident occurred at 13:00 in Avenida de los Guindos. A welder caused a spark to jump to a container full of aluminium chippings which was next to a tank of gas.
The passer-by was only slightly injured in the blast but the three workmen were not so lucky and are now in the Carlos Haya hospital in Málaga.
One, a 65 year old, has been transferred to the ICU. He is suffering from second and third degree burns to fifty percent of his body, particularly his head and chest, and is currently on a ventilator.
Another, a 32 year old, has second degree burns to forty percent of his body but is in a stable condition.
The third man, aged 80 years, has first degree burns to the face and limbs.
