A few more details about the Carnival this year, the poster for which has been designed by Doble Objetivo and has a photo of Vanesa Moya, Ninfa del Carnaval de Nerja in 2010.
The opening speeches will take place on Thursday March 3rd. On Friday March 4th, there are the children’s costume competition and the election of the Dios Momo and Ninfa del Carnaval for both adults and children. This is followed by a performance by the band Hados Negros.
Saturday March 5th is the Grand Carnival Procession and Sunday March 6th is the Burial of the Sardine, a popular event accompanied by much wailing and weeping.
As was the case last year, no supermarket carts or motorisred vehicles in the procession and the use of glass bottles or glass drinking vessels is also prohibited.
