The ‘Asador de Guadalmina’ in Marbella has been fines €145,000 by the Junta de Andalucia for repeated infringement of the new Anti-Smoking Law which came into force at the beginning of the year.
The Health Department has also warned the owner, José Eugenio Arias, that his premises could face closure as a result of his attitude and actions regarding the General Health Law.
The severity of the fine was based on ‘degree of intent’, the proprietor being fully aware that his actions were an offence.
Fines for infringing the new anti-smoking laws range from €10,001 to €600,000.
