A man arrested in Málaga on Tuesday just minutes after allegedly killing his ex-wife had already been convicted on two counts of abuse and sentenced to 14 months in prison, although the prison sentence was suspended on condition that he attended an ‘equality’ course.
The detainee, 41 year old J.R.C., appeared before the Criminal Court in Málaga in July.
For various crimes, including two cases of threats against his family, he was sentenced to 4 months prison on each count, banned from carrying weapons for 16 months and was subject to a 16 month restraining order.
For a crime of simple child abuse, he was also sentenced to 6 months in prison, banned from carrying weapons for 16 months and was subject to a 16 month restraining order.
The prison sentence, however, was suspended on condition that he attended ‘equality’ courses.
On Tuesday February 15th, after stalking his ex-wife for several days, J.R.C. stabbed and killed her as she was walking down calle Villafuerte in El Palo after taking their daughter to school.
