Two people died and another was seriously injured in a shootout in Cartagena.
Events began at 01:30 when police were notified of shots being fired at a house in calle Sebastián Feringán with the possibility that there was already one person dead within the house.
The arrival of the police was greeted by gunfire from one of the windows of the building and reinforcements were called, including members of the Special Operations Group, while the area was secured.
The wounded man, now in Intensive Care in hospital after undergoing emergency surgery, received his injuries during the police assault on the building, receiving a gunshot wound to the head.
Police eventually gained entry to the building at 08:00, where they found two people dead. In addition to the wounded man, two other people were arrested in connection with the incident.
