A man in Granada has been remanded in custody on suspicion of sexual assault against a local woman.
The alleged assailant and the victim had apparently known each other by sight for about six weeks as the individual frequented the bar where the girl was working. One night, after she finished work, she was asked out for a drink at another bar by the alleged assailant and a friend of his.
At around 04:00, they all decided it was time to go to their respective homes. The alleged assailant asked the girl for a lift home in her car and she agreed.
However, when they got to the doorway of her house, he grabbed her and dragged her inside. He then forced her to take some sort of narcotic substance.
The girl apparently made several attempts to run away but was then threatened with a knife, forced to undress and subsequently sexually assaulted.
The girl finally managed to escape and reported the incident to the authorities. After an investigation, the police gathered sufficient evidence to arrest the alleged assailant.
At his court appearance the alleged assailant was ordered to be detained in custody as he already had a case pending for the crime of abuse within the family.
