The Councillor for Employment, Antonio Miguel Navas, has responded to criticisms by the deputy spokesman of the opposition PSOE, Luis Peña, about the increase in the number of government meetings from 40 to 59 during 2010.
The Councillor stated that Luis Peña was well aware that weekly government meetings were approved in the full plenary session of the Council and pointed out that there are 52 weeks in the year.
The Councillor also vigorously denied that the meetings only lasted between five and fifteen minutes.
There are, as the Councillor points out, 52 weeks in the year. But not 59. Although, with an absolute majority, any Council can approve virtually anything it wants, even a 59 week year.
