The weather really has taken a turn for the better during the past few days and it seems to be bringing people out of hibernation. The Balcon de Europa was verging on ‘packed’ today, which is encouraging.
Like so many things, though, ‘packed’ is relative concept, a notion we were discussing the other day when looking back to years gone by.
Going back between five and ten years, ‘packed’ would have meant being unable to find an unoccupied spot bigger than about 10 square centimetres on Torecilla beach, having to wait 30 minutes in a queue to get to the bar on the Balcon de Europa at New Year or having to play sardines in Plaza Tutti Frutti on virtually any summer evening.
There were two of the bubble-makers on the Balcon de Europa today, kids having great fun popping them almost as soon as they were made.
