As a prelude to the main fashion show, the Oscars, there is the little matter of the Razzies, awards for the worst films and actors of the year.
The other year, Sandra Bullock won both a Razzie and an Oscar, not for the same film though. This year, one particular film dominated the awards, picking up five gongs in total.
M Night Shyamalan’s ‘The Last Airbender’ blew away the competition at the Razzies, winning no less than five Golden Raspberry Awards: worst director (Shyamalan), worst film, worst screenplay (Shyamalan again), worst supporting actor (Jackson Rathbone) and a special award for ‘worst eye-gouging misuse of 3D’.
Ashton Kutcher was voted worst actor for Valentine’s Day, with his co-star Jessica Alba winning worst supporting actress.
Sex and the City 2 took away three awards, these being worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel, worst actress (won collectively by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon) and worst ensemble for its entire cast.
