The prosecution is asking for a twelve year prison sentence for Mohamed K.B. for allegedly imprisoning his wife in a five square metre room for more than a year at the home they shared in Viladecans.
Between July 2008 and November 2008, and again between May 2009 and March 2010, Mohamed K.B. kept his wife confined to a small room with no keys, no phone and only one small window which was covered with a grill and shuttered, leaving the room in darkness.
The accused would often go away for long periods without leaving sufficient food for his wife.
In March 2010, police heard cries coming from the house and went to investigate.
A few days after the discovery of the woman, Mohamed K.B. then allegedly went to one of his friends and threatened him with serious consequences if he did not testify on his behalf.
The prosecution is also requesting compensation of €6,000 for the imprisoned woman.
