The Ministry of Health has issued a salmonella alert which is ‘probably’ related to Blemil Plus 1 Forte baby formula, batch number 236 with an expiration date of August 2012.
The company voluntarily withdrew this particular batch of baby formula from the market on February 4th due to leakage problems, the containers not being tightly closed. However, there could still be some out there, either in shops or in peoples homes.
Although there has been no laboratory confirmation of salmonella in the formula collected from the homes of sick babies, the public are advised to check their supplies and discard any items with the batch number 236 and an expiration date of August 2012.
