A 19 year old Moroccan youth, banned from entering Spain and the subject of two search and detain warrants for burglary and assault, has been detained in Torre del Mar.
The youth was spotted drinking alcohol and smoking with a group of people at a school in Torre del Mar. When approached, the youth ran off but was subsequently captured.
In frisking him, police found a wallet and a membership card for an ornithological society for which he failed to specify the true owners of the items. Asked for identification, the youth gave a false name, but one of the others in the group identified him as 19 year old A.L. who had apparently been confined to the Child Protection Centre in Torre del Mar.
Checking this information with the administration of the Child Protection Centre and cross-checking police files, it was discovered that the youth had two outstanding search and detain warrants for burglary and violence and he was duly detained.
