Applications for the various beach concessions – sunbeds, pedalos etc – can be made up until March 16th, with the starting prices remaining the same as last year.
There is the possibility for sunbeds on 18 beaches, a total of 1,352 beds, 20 pedalos on Burriana beach and two nautical channels, one on Burriana beach and one on El Playazo beach.
This year, concession holders for the sunbeds can request an extension to continue until December 31st, for an appropriate fee of course. The application for an extension can be made on July 20th.

As a beach lover during my summer vacation at the calahonda beach, I wonder if the beach sunbed companies are going to offer the poor tourist a bit of a discount in these hard times.
I love the beach life during my holiday and would love to see the local council making an extra effort to clean up all the nerja beaches to encourage the tourists to visit.
I am not saying the beaches are of a poor standard, but if they are continually cleaned as they used to be by the local refuse collecting teams then all visitors will be more than happy to visit. i remember seeing men collecting weed and washed up debris into black bin liners daily before a little boat would collect the debris from the beach.
This was something that encouraged me to remain a loyal visitor to a blue flag beach, why did this collection stop ?
