The Supreme Court has decided, at least for the time being, not to suspend the temporary 110kph speed limit on highways and dual carriageways following a legal challenge to the legislation.
The Supreme Court has not, however, ruled on whether the legislation, effective as from March 7th 2011, is legal or not.
The new speed limit was challenged by the company responsible for fines, Dvuelta and the platform Movimiento 140.
The Supreme Court rejected a request for an immediate suspension of the new speed limit, preferring to wait until hearing from the Government.
