A dozen gourmets brought together in Madrid by ‘master slicer’ Florencio Sanchidrián have concluded that the best ham in the world is the Denomination of Origin ‘Los Pedroches’ from Córdoba.
All tasting was done ‘blind’, with attention being paid to aroma, taste, juiciness, flavour and texture.
It was also decided that the best drinks to go with the ham are Malleolus Valderramiro 2007 and Champagne Don Perignón.
The event, the I Cata Oficial a Ciegas de ibérico puro, was held at the Venta el Matadero in Madrid.
