A small motor boat carrying twelve sub-Saharans, including five women and three babies, has been intercepted after reaching the port of Melilla.
The passengers, none of whom were carrying any sort of documentation, were taken to the Hospital Comarcal for a routine check up before being handed over to the National Police.
The deportation procedure can take several months, although it very often fails to be concluded, especially when minors are involved. Once in the Temporary Immigration Centre they have secure accommodation, food, health care within an open regime, and that is very often where they remain.
