Periana has become the latest municipality to inaugurate a new football field, a project which cost €1,185,241.37 and was financed by the regional, provincial and municipal authorities.
Attending the official inauguration were the provincial delegate for Tourism, Trade and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Souvirón, the president and vice president of the provincial institution, Salvador Pendón and Francisco Fernández, and the mayor of the municipality, Adolfo Moreno.
The work was carried out in three phases, the finally action being the laying of the artificial turf costing €700,000.
The Municipal Football School has 80 pupils enrolled and there are also two senior football teams in the town.
