A man sentenced to 57 years in prison in 1993 for killing his wife and son has been arrested again in connection with the disappearance, two years ago in Tarragona, of his current wife and his brother-in-law.
Ramón Laso, aged 58 years, was arrested at the bar he now runs and during a seach of his house, police removed several objects including two shovels.
Ramón Laso was arrested in 1988 for the killing of his first wife, Dolores Camacho, and later for the killimg of their six year old son. He confessed to the killings and in 1993 he was sentenced to 57 years in prison but was released after 7 years for good behaviour with the remainder of the sentence being served as probation.
In March 2009, Julia Lamas and Maurici Fuentes were reported missing by the Lamas family. Ramón Laso maintains that the two left voluntarily in order to live together.
In the meantime, neither has withdrawn funds and Maurici Fuentes, a diabetic, has not sought further medication.
