It is over a year now since the underground rubbish containers were installed but they are now finally coming into operation. Six units in the Pueblo and six units in Torrox Costa, with three bins per unit, are now operational after ‘electrical problems’ apparently prevented their earlier use.
The underground bin systems are basically normal wheelie bins on an electronic platform, hardly high tech, and one would have thought that a manual override, a cranking handle even, would have been a logical component. This way, the underground bins could have been operational long ago.
