The Andalucian cities of Sevilla and Granada are among the top four cities in Spain when it comes to traffic jams on the streets, while Jaén has one of the lowest congestion rates.
The figures are in a report by the company Tom Tom and show that Barcelona is top for congestion, with 24% of the main streets having traffic jams throughout the day.
Madrid is second with 16% of mains streets suffering congestion throughout the day, followed by Sevilla on 15% and Granada on 10.4%. At the other end of the scale, Jaén, Logroño and Burgos are all under 1% congestion.
During rush hours, that is to say between 07:30 and 09:30 on work days, Madrid has around 62 kilometres of hold-ups. Barcelona is second with 42 kilometres.
