The registration period is now open for those wishing to take part in the May Crosses competition, both for cross decoration and ‘arropía’ (cake made of flour, honey and spice).
Crosses not properly registered will not be visited by the panel of judges on May 3rd. The municipal prizes for crosses are €500, €250 and €150 and for best arropía is €200, €100 and €75.
In addition, the Lions Club are offering prizes for the best crosses by youngsters, these being €200, €100 and €80.
There is financial assistance available for those participating in the competition, €80 for adult crosses and €30 for children’s crosses.
Entries for the competition can be made up until April 28th at the Department of Popular Traditions in calle Cristo.
Prizes will be awarded on May 11th.
