An 18 year old youth lost both of his legs after he was hit by a local train in the Leganés Central station in Madrid.
According to witnesses, the youth, Cristian Andrés P.M, was arguing with some other people and climbed down onto the track area to pick up a rock in order to intimidate them. Unfortunately, he was drunk and was unable to get back on the platform and was hit by the train.
Paramedics stabilised his condition and he was transferred to the Hospital La Paz in Madrid where his condition was described as ‘critical’.
Both legs were severed below the knee and his right knee has apparently suffered ‘catastrophic’ damage.
