The funeral takes place today of the rancher and businessman Juan Pedro Domecq Solís who died on Monday in a car accident near Higuera de la Sierra.
The accident occurred on the N-433 when the SUV driven by Juan Pedro Domecq Solís collided head on with a truck. The driver of the truck was injured in the incident and had to be airlifted to the Hospital Comarcal in Riotinto.
The rancher was on his way from his finca, Lo Alvaro, in El Castillo de Las Guardas (Sevilla), to Jabugo (Huelva) to oversee the drying of some Iberian hams when the incident occurred.
Juan Pedro Domecq Solís was born in Sevilla in 1942 and grew up in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz). An agronomist, he was one of the most important breeders of fighting bulls in Spain and his ranch is the oldest in Spain, dating from 1790.
The Mass and cremation takes place in Valverde del Camino at 17:00 today.
