Work has started to temporarily repair the northern access route to Álora, closed due to serious winter storm damage.
This is the third time that the road has been severely damaged by bad weather and it was only built in 2007. The road cost €2.6 million and was financed by ADIF as compensation for inconvenience caused during the construction of the AVE high-speed rail link.
The current repair works are being carried out by the Department of Environment of the Junta de Andalucia, the owners of the road, and could be reopened to traffic within one month.
