National Police in Úbeda, Jaén, have seized 514 archaeological items at a private home and an investigation is under way to analyze and categorise the artifacts to determine whether any are the result of robberies or plundering.
A two week investigation led up to the raid on the home of 63 year old F.L.F. who has been charged with crimes against patrimony and receiving.
Amongst the items recovered are amphoras, columns, shields, lamps, coins, sculptures and urns. One of the items, a Roman shield, could be one that was allegedly stolen about fives years ago from Casería Monsalve in Úbeda.
