The Councillor for Infrastructure, José Alberto Tomé, has announced the approval of a project to build three bridges across the Rio Seco.
The Councillor stated that there were those who thought this project would never be realised and that it has only been announced due to the proximity of local elections but, he added, the recent bad weather ‘put everyone in their place’ on that point.
One bridge will be near the Camino de Enmedio, one near Cortijo Victoria and one at La Colá. The project has a budget of €87,000 and a completion period of two months.
The Council held a meeting with local residents and farmers who, for a long time, have been requesting the building of bridges in the area. They have now referred the project to the Andalucian Water Agency, a body that must approve any such project.
The Councillor hopes that the Andalucian Water Agency issues its report quickly so that the Council can begin the tendering process for the works.
