Around 50,000 people are expected to attend the annual Feria de Mayo at the new ‘Ángel Harillo’ site in Ronda. The Feria has been brought forward this year due to the municipal elections and takes place from May 12th to May 15th.
Amongst the activities planned are Flamenco and Sevillana shows and competitions, bullfights, horse shows, petanca exhibitions, motocross and canine dressage. The new feria site is around 15,000 square metres and there will be 114 tents and booths.
The Feria de Mayo was cancelled in 2009 in order to fund a local plan for employment but returned in 2010, albeit with a much lower budget of €180,000 rather than the €350,000 of earlier years. The budget for the 2011 feria remains at €180,000.
