Ashton Kutcher, probably best known to the rest of the world as a prolific tweeter and the husband of Demi Moore, has been signed up to take over from Charlie Sheen in the hit comedy series Two and a Half men.
Kutcher has hosted the prank show Punk’d and is probably best known as Michael Kelso on Fox’s That 70s Show. Really? He is said to be earning $1million per episode, slightly less than Charlie Sheen but still not to be sniffed at.
Two and a Half Men was a great show with Charlie Sheen delivering his lines impeccably, Jon Cryer doing a brilliant job as the so-called loser brother…in fact, a great cast all together. It remains to be seen what the next series will be like. It certainly won´t be quite the same.
Filming starts in the summer for a new series to be screened in the autumn.
Warner cut the show short and fired Sheen two months ago amid outbursts and reported problems with drink and drugs. I have a distinct feeling, however, that his contribution will be missed.
