Two people have been arrested in connection with fire that damaged six cars and the facade of a building in Alhaurín el Grande at the end of April.
Two vehicles were completely destroyed in the early hours of April 30th and four others were badly damaged. The facade of the building, located in calle Virgen de Gracia, was also totally blackened in what appears to have been an arson attack, the apparent motive being revenge.
A witness reported seeing a vehicle leaving the scene of the fire in a hasty manner and the police investigation led to the discovery of this vehicle. Inside the car was a bottle of petrol, firelighter and matches.
This in turn led police to a family in the area and two people were subsequently arrested. One of the detainees is aged 19 years. After appearing in court, the two accused were released on bail.
The motive for the arson attack is thought to have been a vendetta against one of the owners of a car destroyed in the attack.
