Two small boats carrying a total of 31 illegal immigrants of North African origin were intercepted on Tuesday off the Almeria coast.
The first boat, with 19 occupants, was intercepted at 19:00 about 4.2 miles southeast of Punta Lacra by the Coast Guard vessel ‘Salvamar Denébola’.
The second boat, with 12 people on board, was intercepted 11.5 miles south of Cabo de Gata by the vessel ‘Guardamar Caliope’. All the immigrants were in good health and are now in the port of Almeria.
