Medgroup, who purchased land from Nerja Council for the construction of an 18 hole golf course, 500 luxury homes and a five star hotel in La Coladilla, are expecting a verdict to be reached by the end of the year in their legal action to recover the €15 million paid to the Council.
Medgroup bought the land to construct the sports and leisure complex, to be located near the Nerja Caves, but the project was vetoed by the Junta de Andalucia who classified the land as protected.
Medgroup asked for the return of their €15 million but the Council refused. Medgroup believe if you sign an agreement to carry out a project and are then prevented from doing so, you have been effectively scammed.
As a result, Medgroup took the matter to court and are now expecting a verdict by the end of the year.

No doubt the council have spent it on some stupid project-instead of putting the sum in a secure place!!!
