The playthings have been ejected from the perambulator once more as the Council spokesman, José Miguel García, has announced that Council members belonging to the Nerja Caves Foundation and other municipal officials will not be attending the official presentation of the Nerja Caves Concerts due to take place in Málaga tomorrow.
This annual event is due to the fact that the announcement of the Nerja Caves Festival programme is made in Málaga and not in Nerja itself. According to José Miguel García, the president of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Hilary Lopez Luna, stated last year that future announcements would be made in Nerja as well as Málaga.
However, this is not the only reason the officials will not be attending the event in Málaga. Another reason is that the (PP) members of the Nerja Caves Foundation only found out who was performing at the caves through the press and were not officially informed.
José Miguel García also complained that the singer Pasión Vega will not be performing during the festival, something proposed by the mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo.
Finally, the Councillor criticised the manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ramírez, for scheduling the concerts to coincide with the Virgen del Carmen festivities.
