A joint operation by Guardia Civil, Local Police and Customs officers has resulted in the recovery of 350 kilos of hashish thrown into the sea off the Granada coast.
The drugs have been floating around in the sea for several days after having been thrown overboard from a high powered dinghy during a chase.
Last weekend, a dinghy with two outboard engines was spotted off Almuñecar and a Customs boat gave chase. The occupants of the boat, a seven metre dinghy with two 200 hp engines, ditched their illicit cargo overboard and then sped to Caleta beach in Almuñecar where they then fled on foot.
