Police in Sevilla have arrested thirteen people in connection with violent robberies carried out at the homes of mainly elderly residents in the La Vega district.
A number of robberies were carried out in San José and Rinconada, the victims generally being elderly, the robbers having no qualms about using violence to achieve their objectives.
Some of the victims were just threatened with violence, such as having their fingers cut off if they didn’t hand over money, others were physically beaten. The robbers would often pose as police officers to gain entry into homes.
