Businesses in calle Nueva in the heart of Ronda have seen sales fall by around 30% over the past couple of years and a new initiative is being developed to try and reverse this situation.
Around 30 businesses in calle Nueva have decided to open until 23:30 on two Fridays each month during June, July and August in an attempt to attract new customers, not only tourists but also local residents.
There will also be various promotions in bars and restaurants in the street as well as ‘live’ music performances.
The businesses have not only been affected by the general financial crisis in Spain but also by the reduced purchasing power of visitors to the city.
