Summer officially starts at 19:16 today, Tuesday June 21st, and the meteorological office is predicting a hotter than average summer with the first heatwave due later this week.
The first heatwave could result in temperatures of 40 degrees in Western Andalucia. The normal average summer temperature in mainland Spain and the Balearics is 22.4 degrees, but this year it is expected to be 26 degrees.
