At 06:00 this morning, employees of the cleaning service Urbaser in Jerez began an indefinite strike with only a minimum service operating.
There will only be three rubbish collection vehicles out today, with two of these being solely for the hospital and the food market. There will be no street cleaning today.
Street cleaning will be on alternate days and will only involve 20% of Urbaser staff.
The strike was called after Urbaser management insisted on a wage freeze as a condition for negotiating a new collective agreement.
