Spain has added another piece of silverware to the trophy cupboard, winning the European Under-21 Championship with a 2-0 victory over Switzerland in Denmark.
Ander Herrera headed in Didac Vila’s cross to make it 1-0 in the first half and it stayed that way, Spain clinging on to their lead, until nine minutes before then end when Thiago Alcantara thumped in a 37 metre free kick to put the result beyond doubt.
