A boat carrying sixty immigrants, including eight pregnant women, has been intercepted off the Granada coast.
The boat was first spotted about fifty miles off Motril by a fishing vessel although Marine Rescue had received a call from Morocco on Saturday morning too say that a boat had set off and was heading to Spain.
The small boat was intercepted on Saturday evening by the Marine Rescue vessel Salvamar Hamal and the passengers were taken to Motril. All were apparently in good health although the pregnant women, one of whom was in an advanced state, were transferred to hospital for routine medical checks.
