Guardia Civil sergeant Angel Luis J.T., suspected of killing his former partner in a shootout in a Madrid gymnasium, has died in the Hospital Gregorio Marañón.
Angel Luis J.T., aged 45 years, apparently entered the gym, located in the plaza de la República Dominicana, shortly before 17:00 on Tuesday afternoon and fired six shots into Marcos H.H., a 28 year old who worked at the facility.
The sergeant then shot himself in the head but was still alive when the Emergency Services arrived on the scene.
The two bodies were lying close together in a pool of blood in the men’s changing rooms and there were two guns found at the scene, a revolver and a Beretta pistol. Both guns were regulation Guardia Civil issue and both belonged to Angel Luis J.T.
Angel Luis J.T. was taken to the Hospital Gregorio Marañón in Madrid in a critical condition and later died from his wounds.
