The Councillor for Infrastructure, Antonio García, has been expanding on the plans to renovate calle El Barrio in the centre of Nerja to create a sort of pedestrianised corridor from Parque Verano Azul to the Balcón de Europa.
Due to the length of the street, the renovations will be carried out in two phases, the first being up to Cafeteria El Barrio, the second being to the junction with avenida Castilla Perez and calle Antonio Millón.
The project is costing €600,000 and will start in October. The deadline for completion is currently four months.
The project includes the renovation of infrastructure, storm water drainage, sanitation and the installation of various items of street furniture. The street will be tiled in two colours, grey and red.
